Abstract
528,325. Electric resistors. KOLSTERBRANDES, Ltd., and BEATTY, W. A. April 25, 1939, No. 12406. [Class 37] A temperature variable resistor has its temperature brought to a particular point on the working range, and current from an auxiliary source is supplied to it for causing the temperature to fluctuate about a mean value over the effective working range. The resistor 11, preferably of silver sulphide, is heated from a source 16, 17 supplying the heater 12 through condensers 18, 19. An auxiliary source 20, 21 is supplied through resistors 22, 23 having a high resistance compared with that of the heater, the effective temperature range being varied by varyin g the auxiliary current. In modifications the source 16, 17 can be a battery, or separate heaters can be supplied from the respective sources. Specification 519,746 is referred to.
