[Class 37.] An electric resistance having a negative temperature coefficient and for use particularly with iron-hydrogen resistors consists of uranium dioxide. The uranium dioxide resistance 13 is connected between caps 11 in series with the iron wire resistor 8 and functions to reduce the initial surge current which occurs when an iron-hydrogen resistor is employed alone.
