[Class 20 (ii)] A wall step for manholes comprises a U- shaped frame divided into two portions by an intermediate plate 2 which straddles the legs and acts as a stop plate during the construction of the'wall to prevent concrete passing through the aperture 7 in the shuttering 6. The shuttering is held in position by a wedge 8 passing through the loop 1 forming the step portion of the frame, while the ends of the legs are provided with hooks 4 to engage the concrete. A rib may be provided on the inner face of the step portion to abut against the wedge and for curved or inclined walls the plate 2 is correspondingly shaped or inclined.
