Abstract
527,792. Laminated wood. GOLDSCHMIDT AKT.-GES., T. April 20, 1939, No. 11913. Convention date, May 10, 1938. [Class 145 (ii)] In a method of glueing together pieces of wood of different hardness, an auxiliary layer of soft wood b is first glued under high pressure to the hard or highly compressed piece a after which the auxiliary layer b is softened, for example' by steaining, without affecting its connection to the hard piece a, and finally, the soft piece e is glued on to the softened auxiliary layer b under a lower pressure. The plates of the press are heated and heat hardenable resin films c are used between the hard piece and the auxiliary layer. Adhesive films d with wire netting, through which is passed a heating current of electricity, are interposed between the soft piece e and the auxiliary layer b.
