[Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XXIII] A magnetic clamp comprising a magnet on one side of the work and an armature on the other is characterized in that the armature or both the armature and the magnet consist of independently movable units so as to conform to the contour of the work. As shown, airplane or other metal parts 24, 25, 26 are joined by heat curable adhesives, such as those known under the Registered Trade Marks " Cycleweld " and " Bostik " while they are clamped between an electromagnet 20 and a number of armatures 23, by inserting the whole in an oven, e.g. heated to 330-340‹ F. for Cycleweld C-3. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of rigid magnetic clamps, the use of wooden and metal shims to level up the parts, and curing the adhesive by using a heated armature. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
