Abstract
497,504. Clamps. MAYTUM, J. A., and SMITH, L. Oct. 26, 1937, No. 29263. [Class 61 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] In order to secure two mirrors 5 with their reflecting surfaces at rightangles to each other in a carrier consisting of two perforated backing plates 1 rigidly connected by a yoke piece 2, the mirrors are placed on the faces 7, which are accurately at rightangles to each other of a jig 10. Cement is applied to the plates 1 which are then laid over the mirrors and held by springs 14 on a right-angled bracket 13 pivoted at 22 on a vertical member 23 of the jig. The jig also comprises a spring plunger 9 which can be operated by a handle 17 so as to bear on the yoke 2.
