Abstract

526,639. Typewriters. OLYMPIA BUROMASCHINENWERKE AKT.-GES. March 23, 1939, No. 9221. Convention date, April 29, 1938. [Class 100 (iv)] A mask 7, Fig. 2, for a typewriter consists of a one-piece member comprising sides 7a, front and rear parts 7b, 7c, and a F-section cross-part 7d, 7e provided with ribbon-spool covers 8 and so arranged that the complete typewriter 1 can be pushed iri an inclined position through the space between the parts 7e, 7c, and can then be raised into engagement with the mask. The mask is formed with V-depressions 7f at the sides of the keyboard opening, and the front part 7b is formed with openings 7h for the front keys. The base of the typewriter is formed with a vertical edge 1a which abuts on ribs 7g on the mask. The typewriter may be secured to the mask by means of screws 12 which pass through the base 10 of the cover and serve also to secure the feet 13. The base of the typewriter may be provided with strips 9 of felt for deadening sound. The ribbon-spool covers 8 may be hinged. The mask may consist of artificial resin, sheet metal, or a light magnesium casting.
