Abstract

525,912. Pneumatic tyre pressure gauges. TURNER, W. March 3, 1939. No. 6933. [Class 106 (ii)] A dust cap 1 for the gauge is provided with means 4 for adjusting the valve pin lock nut and unseating the valve pin. The cap has sides 1a which extend over and closely fit the outside of the gauge barrel, the plunger 2 being bored at 3 to receive a pin 1b on the cap. The free end of the pin 1b is bored and slotted at 4 to engage with and adjust the lock nut for the tyre valve pin. In the form shown, the pin 1b is screw threaded to engage the plunger 2. In a modification the pin 1b is coned and engages a conical hole in the plunger by friction. The parts may have a snap action by ball and socket or expanding spring means. The outer end of the cap may also be coned and fluted to form a deflating pin.
