Abstract
525,703. Street orderlies. SWIFT, H., and SWIFT, P. W. Feb. 27, 1939, No. 6358. [Class 107] [Also in Group XXV] A litter container or basket 1 has riveted thereto a T- 'shaped bar 2; the flanges of which are adapted to be received within the flanges 5 of a part 4 fixed to a post or other support. Below, and in line with the part 2, a stud 6 is secured to the container 1 and when the latter is raised and tilted, Fig. 2, the stud is engaged and held in the restriction 5x formed between the upper ends of the flanges 5. The upper part of one flange 5 is cut away at 5y to allow the container 1 to tilt and the lower part of the bar 2 is cut away at an angle so that it bears against the part 4 when the container is tilted. In a modification, Fig. 10, the bar 2 is made in two parts, the upper part being fixed to the container 1 and the lower part is loosely secured thereto by a rivet 2x that it can turn or swivel, the stud 6 being dispensed with. The part 4 is extended upwards and is formed or provided with a stop 7. A stop 8 at the bottom of the part 4 limits the downward movement of the part 2.
