This invention relates to containers such as are used for holding trash and other waste material and has special reference to a bag and bag holder for the purpose set forth.

.One important object of the invention is to provide a novel knockdown structure for supporting a bag with the'mouth of the bag held open.

A second important object of the invention is to provide a novel bag and bag holder wherein the bag and its holder have improved cooperating parts for supporting the bag from the holder..

A third important object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved form of knockdown support for trash collecting bags.

With the above and other objects in View, as will be presently apparent, the invention consists in general of certain novel details of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

In the accompanying drawings like characters of reference indicate like parts in the several views, and:

Figure 1 is a side elevation of one preferred form of the invention.

Figure 6 is a View similar to Figure 5 but showing a modied bag arrangement.

In the embodiment of the invention as shown in Figures l to 5 inclusive, there is provided a bag mouth frame IEB preferably consisting of a length of strap metal having its ends suitably connected, as by welding, to form an endless band. Preferably this band is shaped to form a generally equilateral triangle having the corner portions bent to provide sockets i! which are open at both ends. While these sockets are upright in axial extent they are inclined slightly from the vertical so that their axial lines diverge downwardly.

The bag I5 used with this frame is peculiar in that it is provided with means for engaging on the pins I4 so that the bag holder and bag are In place of the form shown in Figure 5 the arrangement shown in Figures 6 and '7 or that shown in Figures 8 and 9 may be used. In Figures '7 and 8, the bag 2! is provided with a drawn string tube 22 holding the draw string 23. The ring 24 is secured by a loop 25A fastened to the mouth of the bag by staples 25. In Figures 8 and 9 there is shown a form adapted for use when the bag 21 is made of paper or the like. In this form the paper is provided with three holes adjacent to the rim, one hole being shown at 23. A reinforcing grommet 29 is used in each hole. As in the first form, the ring 25 or grommet 29 forms an eye for engaging over a pin I4.

The frame may be modified for screw attachment to a wall or the like and such modification is shown in Figures l0 and 1l. In this form the frame is of the same generally triangular form as in Figure 2 but one side is provided with spaced screw holes 3| so that screws may be passed therethrough to engage in a fixed support. In this form the corner sockets 32 receive eye engaging pins 33 having stop means 34 spaced below their upper ends to limit downward movement of the pins in the sockets.

In Figure 12 the frame is modified to provide a triangular frame 35 having a short length of tube 36 spot welded in each corner to form a leg or pin receiving socket having the same function as the sockets I4 and 32.

The bag is normally supported in the frame with its eyes engaging over the corner pins. When full the bag is removed and, if so provided, closed by means of the draw string.

It will be observed that the legs or pins .are to be removed from their sockets for storage or transportation.

There has thus been provided a simple and ecient device of the kind described and for the purpose specified.

It is obvious that changes may be made in the form and proportions of the invention without departing from the material principles thereof. The invention is therefore not to be limited to the exact forms herein shown and described but is to be limited only by the scope of the appended claims.

What is claimed, is:

1. In combination, a bag support consisting of an equilateral triangular frame having a socket formed at each angle thereof, legs having their upper ends engaging in said sockets and having stop means limiting the upward movement of the legs, said stop means being positioned suciently below the upper ends of the legs to permit the upper ends to project above the sockets to form eye engaging pins, and a bag having a mouth portion provided with eyes engaging over said pins for removably supporting the bag.

2. In combination, a bag support consisting of an equilateral triangular frame having a socket formed at each angle thereof, legs having their upper ends engaging in said sockets and having stop means limiting the upward movement of the legs, said stop means being positioned sumciently below the upper ends of the legs to permit the uper ends to project above the sockets to form eye engaging pins, and a bag having a mouth portion provided with eyes engaging 'over said pins for removably supporting the bag, said sockets being inclined to cause the legs to are downwardly.
