Abstract

525,609. Variable condensers. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. Oct. 14, 1939, No. 27930. Convention date, Oct. 17, 1938. [Class 37] ] To minimise or counteract the variation in capacity with temperature in a slidable-electrode condenser, at least one of the electrodes is secured to its support through an intermediate member. The attachment of the intermediate member to the support is nearer to the point at which the other electrode is supported than the point where the electrode is held it the intermediate member. Thus with lateral intermediate members 7, 8, Fig. 1, the point C is nearer to point A than point B. In Fig. 4 intermediate members 39, 40. 41 are shown on both of the electrodes, in this case forming sleeves on the supporting rods 36, 42, 43. These sleeves are secured to the base-plates of the electrodes at one end, and at the other to the supports.
