533,887. Variable condensers. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. Dec. 9, 1939, No. 31896. Convention date, Dec. 12, 1938. [Class 37] Sliding-electrode condensers have fixed and movable electrodes secured to at least one support and those parts of the supports and electrodes which extend in the direction of adjustment are made of the same material or of materials having equal thermal expansion coefficients. In the example the longitudinal members 2, 4 of the frame and the shaft 9 are made of aluminium while the electrodes 10-12 and 14-16 are cast from a lead - antimonv allov containing 13 per cent. of antimony.
