525,166. Modulating systems; receiving circuits. SIEMENS BROS. & CO., Ltd., and REED, M. Feb. 16, 1939, No. 5061. [Class 40 (v)] A balanced modulator or demodulator, particularly for carrier wave telephony where for example twelve channels are each modulated on to its own sub-carrier, the lower sidebands from each being modulated on to a main carrier, has a filter X inserted in the feed circuit from the carrier source G. This circuit prevents the circulation of out-of-balance currents which are liable to produce undesired cross-modulation effects.
