Abstract

523,641. Aerials. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Jan. 11, 1939, No. 999. Convention date, Jan. 14, 1938. [Class 40 (v)] A number of parallel half-wave radiators 1, 2, 3, 4, Fig. 1, are fed from a non-radiating two-wire feed-line 5 bent into loops 6, 7, 8, 9, the connection of each radiator to the feedlines being such that they are all excited in phase. The radiators are spaced half a wavelength apart along the loops and some of them are connected at one end to a first loop and at the other end to a second loop, both loops being in series with the same feeder. Auxiliary radiators 10, 11, Fig. 2, may be added as shown.. In Fig. 2, the feed-wires are crossed so as to preserve the desired phase-relation whilst keeping all the feed-wires in the same plane. This simplifies the suspension of the system. Since the radiators are series-fed, the points at which the loops are connected to the feeder 5 are potential nodes, and do not require expensive insulation. The aerial system is directive in two opposite directions.
