Abstract
932,650. Aerials; R.F. couplings. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. Nov. 10, 1959 [Dec. 1, 1958], No. 38103/59. Class 40 (7). A radar aerial radiating beams in four directions comprises an array of radiators in a square lattice. Sources 13 to 16, Fig. 1, feed waveguides 1, 3, through direction ferrite attenuators 17 to 20. Between waveguides 1, 3 are slotted waveguides 5, to 8, the distances between slots being equal to the distance between the waveguides 5 to 8 and different from the operating wavelength #g. Another embodiment comprises two plates 21, 22, Fig. 4, in one of which holes 23 are drilled more or less than #g apart. The arrangement is fed from D-shaped cavities 24 to 27 which receive energy through ferrite attenuators such as 29. The D portions may be bent back to save space, Fig. 5 (not shown).
