Abstract
522,861. Cylinders. ARMSTRONG, J. J. V. (Eberspacher, P., and Eberspacher, A.). Jan. 12, 1939, No. 1018. [Class 7 (ii)] An exhaust manifold comprises arcuate branches 1 ... 6 which lead tangentially into a conical chamber 7, the outlet of which has a cross-sectional area greater than the sum of the cross-sectional areas of all the branches. A constriction may be inserted at the entry of branch 1 and a further constriction comprising converging and diverging conical parts may be inserted further along the chamber 7.
