Abstract
522,629. Casting composite articles. ORLT, R. Nov. 28, 1938, No. 34600. Convention date, Dec. 17, 1937. [Class 83 (i)] A bearing bush is lined by fixing on end plates to form a semiclosed body into which the necessary quantity of molten bearing metal is introduced. A steel or other bush 1 is welded or otherwise secured to discs 2 with central openings 4 and to a shaft 5. The container thus formed is dipped into a bath 7 of molten lead-bronze or other bearing metal, or the molten metal is poured in and the container is then rotated with its axis horizontal. It may, however, be rotated during charging also. The bush may be cleaned, pre-heated &c. before charging.
