[Class 39 (iii)] An ironless induction furnace has a tapping- hole, d, arranged in the side thereof and near the bottom. The turns of the induction coil b at the level of said tapping-hole extend outwardly and are bent around a portion of the periphery of the tapping-channel, the extended parts of the coil-turns being inducted at b<SP>1</SP>, and b<SP>2</SP>. In a modification, Fig. 3, the turns of the coil are extended only around the lower part of the tapping-channel, and the said extended turns, b<SP>1</SP>, b', are formed into a kind of trough which constitutes a support for the discharge-channel d. Filling-pieces, e, of solid copper may be fitted between the extended turns.
