Abstract
520,082. Wireless receivers. KOLSTERBRANDES, Ltd., and BEATTY, W. A. Oct. 7, 1938, No. 29127. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] Automatic gain-control of a television receiver is obtained through the medium of derived pulses developed solely during frame synchronisation and applied to an auxiliary circuit which is made operative during the frame pulse and part of the following black-out period, the output of the auxiliary receiver being applied through any known gain-control circuit to control the gain of the vision receiver. In order to make the derived pulses of sufficient duration for the auxiliary receiver to be operative for a certain portion of each frame period, a biasing voltage obtained from the pulses is arranged to oppose the cut-off bias normally rendering the auxiliary receiver inoperative, and is applied thereto through a circuit having an asymmetrical time-constant, e.g., a diode charged through a condenser and discharged through a resistance. Specification 501,349 is referred to.
