Abstract

519,034. Actuating Bowden &c. mechanism. ILLINGWORTH, H., and STANDARD PATENT GLAZING CO., Ltd. Sept. 13, 1938, No. 26642. [Class 136 (i)] [Also in Groups X and XXIV] Operating-gear, particularly for windows and fanlights, comprises a sleeve T connected. 'directly or otherwise, to the window &c. and normally locked in adjusted position along a fixed rod R by the frictional grip thereon of the eyeletted lids L1 of a pair of levers L. The levers are fulcrummed in a stirrup F which is slidable on the rod R and has one lid F' connected to the tube T. Springs S fitted between the lids F<1> F<2> of the stirrup and the inner lids L<1> of the levers normally hold the latter rocked so as to grip the rod. Figs. 6 and 7 show the device applied to a casement window D<3>, and a brake-operating cable &c. G, respectively. As shown, the gear is enclosed by a rotary casing C which is slotted for the passage of the stirrup and levers.
