[Class 17 (ii)] A heel for boot: and shoes comprises a hollow shell 1( moulded from syn. thetic resin or like material having ar inwardly extending flange 11 with a central opening 1: against the lower surface of which a wooden block 13 abuts. A tread 14 of leather o: like material i removably fixed to the base of the heel, which is secured to the shoe by a screw 23 or nails passing into the block clear of the flange. A filler piece of rubber or other resilient material may be inserted in the upper part of the shell, the sides of which are stepped as at 16 to strengthen them. One or more metal pins 21 on the front edge of the shell engage the shank and prevent any lateral or rotational movement of the heel.
