Abstract

518,722. Displaying. CHADWICK, A. Aug. 29, 1938, No. 25266. [Class 3 (i)] An endless translucent band 16 passes round rollers 13 and is driven continuously by a motor 15 through a frictior roll 14, against which the band may be pressed by a spring. urged roller 24. The upper stretch of the band is illuminated by a strip lamp 18 and is seen by reflection in an inclined mirror 10 through an opening in the top of the casing 9. The lower portion of this casing is occupied by a removable translucen display card which may have an opening for the reception of an article. The opening has a bottom shelf 22 and a curved rear reflector, and a lamp 21 assists the lamp 18 in illumination. One or more of the pulleys 13 may be adjustably or resiliently mounted, and a stationary rod 25 may replace one pulley to exert a tensioning drag on the band. A colour filter 17 is located between the lamp 18 and the band 16. A modified form is described in which the sides of casing 9 are replaced by U-struts through which the band 16 passes.
