Abstract
518,230. Making electrolytic condensers. BROWN, S. G. Aug. 17, 1938, Nos. 24211 and 34006. [Class 37] [Also in Group XXII] An electrode for an electrolytic condenser is made by finely corrugating, for example, to a depth of 0.015 inch, a strip of thin filming metal, such as aluminium 0.001 inch thick, and thereafter partly closing up the corrugations. The corrugations may be made between rollers with pointed teeth, and the closing up operations effected in the machine shown by means of a reciprocated hinged blade 16, bearing on the upper surface of the guided strip 5, the sides of the guide exerting a restraint as by spring presure, or there being a movable stop 21 provided to release the closed up section after each stroke.
