[Class 83 (iv)] Shearing; angular bending.-In a machine for shearing or bending, the edges of sheets, the crosshead carrying the tool or die carries means for flexing the tool to counteract the bending of the tool in use. A crosshead 11 reciprocated by eccentrics carries a holder 21 with wedge members 25 engaging wedge members 22 engaging the rear of the tool 12. The wedge surfaces 24 are more inclined towards the inner ends of the members 25. The tool 12 is bowed by adjusting the screws 26.
