[Class 44] [Also in Group XVII] A cap protector for the filling necks of tanks comprises an annular member 4 having a depending semi-annular wall 15 and a semi-annular hinged wall 16 that is locked in closed position by a latch 8<xx>. The latch support is slidably mounted on the underside of the plate 4 and is withdrawn against spring action by a stud on a key-operated rotary member disposed within a neck 5.
