Abstract

517,962. Flyer spindle apparatus. PATTERSON, J. July 31, 1939, No. 22120. Addition to 506,575. [Class 120 (ii)] The legs of the flyer of the parent Specification are made of rectangular or oval cross section with the longer dimension of the section in line with the axes of the flyer deeper in section at the flyer hub A and tapering off to the lower end B of the legs ; the other dimension of the section is approximately of uniform thickness. One or both legs are provided with an enlarged part at the lower end which is transversely bored to receive the inclined thread guide. As shown, the guide E is formed from a straight piece of wire with a bend G to prevent the yarn or thread running off the guide and the guide is secured in a hole D bored at an inclination to the vertical and horizontal in an enlarged part or boss C or near the end B of the flyer leg; the wire may be curved.
