Abstract

517,139. Moulding grooved tiles &c. BRITISH ,& INTERNATIONAL FLOORING CO., Ltd. (Goetzl, K. F.). July 19,1938, No. 21432. [Class 87 (ii)] A mould 1 for the production of plates or tiles having grooves on the underside is provided with bars 4 passing through bores 5 in one wall 6 of the mould and tapering towards their free ends which engage blind bores 7 in the opposite wall 8, the bars extending along the base and serving to form the grooves. The bars are of circular cross-section with flats on the underside engaging the base, the width of the flats being smaller than the diameter of the bar. The bars 4 are joined by a cross-bar 9 provided with a handle 10. The mould frame 1 is supported by the bars 4 on a base plate resting on a worktable: A hard rubber plate may be interposed between the bars and the base plate. Pressure'is applied by a pressing or stamping tool through a cover plate fitting within parallel walls at the top of the mould. The lower. parts of the mould walls may extend obliquely inwardly.
