Abstract

516,503. Alloys. GEE, H. T. P. (Lewis, D. S., and Shead, T.). July 18, 1938, No. 21324. [Class 82 (i)] An alloy for use in soldering or welding, particularly aluminium or aluminium alloys is made by melting zinc with a flux such as borax, adding antimony, and afterwards tin, with or without bismuth, the molten mass being skimmed after the addition of the antimony and again after the addition of the tin. The proportions of the constituents may be 64 parts of tin, 12-44 parts of zinc, and 2-10 parts of antimony, with or without 1 part of bismuth.
