Abstract
515,399. Gravity and inertia switches. RINOT, R. G., and HUCHET FRERES. Feb. 21, 1938, Nos. 5365 and 5366. Void. Convention dates, Feb. 19, 1937, and Oct. 7, 1937. [Class 38 (v)] When the switch is subjected to a sudden impact or is sufficiently tilted from the vertical, a pivoted weight 17 causes a rod 13 to move clear of a member 10 which is forced downwards disengaging contacts 4, 12. In a modification of the invention, the sliding contacts 4 are replaced by laminated springs, and the weight 17 is on the upper end of a close coiled spring instead of the lower end of a pivoted lever. A chain fixed to the weight permits manual operation.
