Abstract

515,075. Knife-edge bearings. CO-OPERATIVEWHOLESALE SOCIETY, Ltd., and SIMS, P. E. June 7,1938, No. 16809. [Class 12 (i)] A bearing 16 for a knife-edge pivot 21 is accommodated between four upstanding posts 15 formed by a transverse and a longitudinal groove in a block or body 14. The transverse groove is arcuate and the bearing 16 which has a groove 18 for the knife-edge 21 is arched at 17 to correspond. Split pins 19 passing through a pair of the posts 15 retain the bearing in position. The knife-edge 21 has a stem 20 adapted to be pressed into a hole in a member 10. To retain the bearing parts against endwise displacement and to prevent excessive separation of the knife-edge and its bearing a plate 22 may be secured to the sides of the body 14. The invention may be embodied in the weighing scales described in Specification 515,074, [Group XVIII].
