Abstract

514,346. Endless-chain conveyers. STEIN & ATKINSON, Ltd. (Stein & Roubaix Soc. Anon.). Dec. 13, 1938, No. 36329. [Class 78 (i)] In an automatic furnace for the thermal treatment of metal pieces, the pieces are carried on a conveyer composed of plates 18 which are pivoted at 20 to lugs 16 on links 14 of a pair of parallel chains and during travel through the furnace rest on a horizontal plate 5. At the end of the plate 5, the plates 18 swing into a substantially vertical position and discharge.the pieces into a shoot 22. During this movement the plates strike the wall 23 of the shoot, and the impact dislodges any adhering pieces.
