Abstract

513,737. Actuating air pumps. TRIGGS. W. W. (Trico Products Corporation). April 19, 1938, No. 11688. [Class 8 (i)] A pump such as the diaphragm pump described in Specification 492,029 is driven by a pulley 43 held in frictional contact with the external surface of a driving belt of the vehicle carrying the pump. The pulley shaft has a cranked portion 38 on which a roller 58 rotates freely to actuate a lever 35 secured to the pump rod 13. The roller encloses bushings at the ends separated by a lubricating member in the middle of porous bronze or felt. The bushings may be of wood ; heat may be dissipated by a metal fin with a radially slit disc on the end. The pump casing may be anchored by a bolt which supports the generator from the engine block and adjustably supported by brackets from the generator casing.
