Abstract

513,614. Heating buildings. ROBERTS, A. May 18, 1938, No. 14783. [Class 64 (ii)] A steam or water-heated radiator for a room &c. is supported by rails 3 mounted on clips applied to the radiator and resting upon rollers 5 carried by brackets 6 secured in the wall of the room. Thus, the radiator is free to move longitudinally in accordance with the expansion or contraction of the steam &c. supply pipe 15. The upper part of the radiator is guided by rollers 9, Fig. 2, mounted in a stirrup carried by the radiator and coacting with a guide rail 8 secured in the wall. In a modification, the rails 3 are attached to the radiator by straps 18, Fig. 5, while in another arrangement, the rails are formed integrally with the radiator. Further, the rollers may be mounted on the radiator, the rails being carried by the brackets.
