Abstract

461,479. Heating buildings. WEBSTER & CO., W. May 14, 1936, No. 13709. Convention date, May 17,1935. [Class 64 (ii)] In a steam heating system for buildings' a vertical steam supply pipe 13 extends through the floors of a building, and is surrounded by a pipe 12 which acts as a radiator. The lower ends of both pipes are secured in a fitting 16 having a sump 24 connected to a thermostatic trap. Between the floors of the building, the pipe 13 is provided with enlargements 36 having openings 37 through which steam is admitted to the pipe 12 to heat it. Springs 38 prevent chattering of the couplings 36 against the outer tube.
