Abstract
513,610. Inlaying box lids &c. FULD, L. April 14, 1938, No. 11616. [Class 93] [Also in Group XVII] A disc &c. c is inlaid and secured by adhesive in a box lid or other article a made, for instance, of. synthetic resin, which has a recess b to receive the disc and has perforations d at the bottom of the recess to permit the escape of excess adhesive, the under-surface of the disc not blocking the perforations when the disc is being placed in position. The recess may have, in addition, a channel e into which excess adhesive can run and a ledge h outside, the channel forming a support for the disc, the latter having flange or skirt j to prevent excess adhesive from reaching the outer edge of the disc. The channel e may be gapped to form openings for the escape of the adhesive, in which case there are no perforations in the central part of the recess. When the ledges h are not provided, the flange j is on the outer edge of the disc. A label may be applied over the perforations or gaps.
