Abstract

513,435. Covers for motor cars. FREUND, W. (Gugel, W.). April 7, 1938, No. 10603. [Class 20 (i)] A waterproof cover for a motor car is shaped to the form of the car and is provided with one or more closable openings adjacent the doors of the car, to provide access to the interior of the car without removing the cover. The cover 1 is provided with openings 4 adapted to be closed by sliding-clasp fasteners and also with celluloid covered spaces 2, 3 forming windows for the lamps and number plate. The cover is locked to the car by a rod 5 extending through the eyes 6 of the fastening on opposite sides of the car, and a padlock 9. The cover is spaced from the roof by rubber balls 12 held in pockets in the cover, and the space between the car and cover is ventilated by means of flaps 11 and a spring valve 13. A reinforced cover strip 4a may be provided at the fastenings for the openings. A tent extension as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 1 may be attached to the cover for camping purposes.
