513,331. Brake shoes. BENDIX, Ltd., and ROBERTS, G. P. April 5, 1938, No. 10367. [Class 103 (i)] [Also in Group XXII]. A brake shoe is formed as a die-casting and is cast or to a strip of material which forms the friction lining A shoe for an internal drum brake is shown. To secure the lining a to the shoe c the edges may be bevelled to engage lips d on the shoe c and the metal of the shoe may enter apertures f and extend to the upper surface of the lining. The shoe may be of zinc base alloy and be provided with steel inserts at the ends to take the thrusts thereon.
