Abstract
512,184. Delivering measured quantities of granular &c. materials. SPENCE, W. L. July 2, 1938, No. 19653. Addition to 468,470. [Class 106(v)] In the apparatus for separating and delivering measured quantities of fluent materials described in the parent Specification the troughed cylinders are fitted with differently shaped spring-plate false bottoms D having tongued ends engaging at the handle end of the cylinder with a socketheaded screw C and at the opposite end with one of three holes M, N, O, according to the quantity required to be delivered. A fine adjustment of the quantity delivered is effected by operating the screw C' to flex the false bottom D. A spring skirt K' on the cylinder presses lightly on the front end of the false bottom or a spring projection on the false bottom presses lightly on the front end of the cylinder to prevent the fluent material from passing under the false bottom.
