512,016. Straightening rifle barrels. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE-GES. Jan. 25, 1939, No. 2620. Convention date, Feb. 22, 1938. [Classes 83(ii) and 83(iv)] Power hammers.-In a machine for trueing rifle barrels, the operator views the barrel from a seat, not shown, and applies a straightening pressure by a screw operated, three point bender. The barrel is supported between end abutments 30 adjusted by a hand wheel 25 engaging right and left hand threads or by levers actuated by a pedal 44. The centre abutment 5 is actuated by a screw 10 engaging a flywheel 9 rotated by a hand-rail 11 or by a friction wheel 12 from an electromotor 18 When a pedal 15 is depressed levers 36, 38 are moved to actuate a clutch-lever 22. As the abutment moves the screw 10 rises and engages a lever 17 for throwing out the clutch. The flywheel, abutments, &c. are carried in a head 2 adjustable about the axis of the electromotor.
