Abstract

511,919. Bag fastenings. HAMMESFAHR, C., and HAMMESFAHR, W. Jan. 18, 1939, No. 1726. [Class 44] A fastening for the flap of a handbag comprises a plate 6 bifurcated at its upper end for attachment to the flap, not shown, and carrying a projection 7 by which manipulation is effected. Plate 6 is adapted to be inserted endwise in a guide socket secured to the body of the bag and having an attachment plate 1 carrying a blade spring 4 and a front wall 3 with a slot to receive projection 7. Inwardly directed tongues 8 on wall 3 are engaged in apertures in member 6 under action of the blade spring, and release is effected by pressing projection 7.
