Abstract

[Class 110 (i)] In a turbo-compressor or pump, the average peripheral velocity of the medium during its passage through the guiding blade rings 7, Fig. 1, is maintained at least one third of and even as much as the relative peripheral velocity of the rotor blade rings 6 with respect to the blades 7. The ratio between the tangents of the angles #1, #2, Fig. 2, of the rings 7, 6 lies between specified limits measured as functions of the speeds of these rings 6, 7. The angles #1, #2, on one common section may be equal, and the ratio of the tangents of these angles may increase from the axis according to a formula involving the square of the distance from the axis. The guide blades 7 may be stationary or may rotate and in a direction opposite to that of the blades 6.
