510,845. Casting processes; extracting ingots. GRIFFITHS, S. H. Dec 13, 1938, No. 36245. [Class 83 (i)] In the stripping of ingots by lifting the upper major section 2 of a mould, with the contained ingot 12, from the lower section and lowering on to a support 16 'so that the projecting ingot is forced up, relative to the section 2, as described in Specification 468,929, a wedge of asbestos &c. is inserted between the mould and ingot, after stripping, to retain them in spaced relation and assist cooling.
