510,707. Loud-speaker diaphragms; synthetic resins. I. G. FARBENINDUS TRIE AKT.-GES. Feb. 4, 1938, No. 3557. Convention date, Feb. 15, 1937. -[Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group IV] A loud-speaker diaphragm is made of synthetic resin in a foam-like form. Resins specified are urea - formaldehyde' con densates, polyvinyl compounds (e.g. polystyrene and those known under the Registered Trade Marks " Bakelite " anc " Glyptal." Specification 446,442, [Group IV], is referred to. As illustrated, a diaphragm 4 of substantial thickness is glued at its inner end both to the coil former 5 and to the central part of the spider 6, Fig. 2, or to the coil former only, Fig. 1 (not shown).
