[Class 122 (v)] An excluder device for a spindle bearing consists of an inner ring 1 fixed to the spindle 3 and which has formed on the inner face annular recesses 2 adapted -to receive a flange part formed on the adjacent face of the outer ring 4 which is fixed to the body of the machine in which the work spindle is. mounted. On the periphery of the outer flange of the ring 4 is formed a screw-thread which forms a labyrinth, whereby dirt or coolant is prevented from gaining access to spindle bearing. A circular recess 8 in the outer ring 4 receives a disc 9 which forms a closure device retaining lubricant in the bearing.
