Abstract

509,593. Vaporizing-appliances. DIAMOND, E. A. July 20, 1938, No. 20066/37. [Class 81 (i)] A vaporizing - appliance comprises a liquid heating vessel 1 with an electric immersion heater 2 therein, a substantially horizontal plate 11 supported in the mouth of thevessel, and a cup-like medicant holder 8 suspended by the plate within the vapour space of the heating vessel and communicating both with that space and the atmosphere by means of its open top and apertures 9. The vapour produced in the heating vessel being compelled to pass through the upper part of the medicant holder and entrain with it vapour arising from the surface of the heated medicant. A detachable cover 10 is provided having a depending plug 19 adapted to enter the mouth of the holder, and a vapour outlet orifice 15. The immersion heater preferably consists of two carbon electrodes immersed in the liquid to be heated. The medicant holder may be integral with the plate 11.
