Abstract

1287075 Cooking utensil J M HARRIS 30 March 1971 8184/71 Heading A4A A cooking utensil for use inside a frying pan enables both sides of an egg to be cooked without turning. The egg 8 is placed in the pan 4 in the usual way and the utensil placed over it. Water from the reservoir 23 can enter the pan by means of the passage 18 causing the upper side of the egg to be cooked by steam. The reservoir is sealed by the manually operable valve assembly 24. The conical tip of the valve 22 is held seated at the top of the passage 18 by a spring 30. The knob 2 and the cover 3 may be formed integrally or may be held together by screws 14. A means 15 of deflecting the water away from the egg may be incorporated on the underside of the utensil.
