[Class 103 (i)] [Also in Group XXIV] A unidirectional brake comprises a male cone a having a quick-pitch screw connection with a rotatable member e and urged by springs m towards engagement with a fixed female cone g, free rotation of the member e being facilitated by means of centrifugally-acting balls, rollers or other masses n which tend to move the cone a away from the member g. As shown, the member e has a flange h bolted to a flanged member k keyed to a driving sleeve f<1>, the masses n being carried in radial pockets o formed in a disc p, rotating with the cone a, and acting on an inclined surface q of the cone a.
