507,596. Condensers. DUBILIER CONDENSER CO. (1925), Ltd., and COURSEY, P. R. Dec. 17, 1937, No. 35010. [Class 37] A condenser comprises a main condenser unit supported by a member of insulating material also constituting the dielectric of an auxiliary condenser unit, electrically connected to the main unit, the dielectric materials of the main and auxiliary condenser units having capacity-temperature coefficients of opposite sign. In Fig. 2 mica dielectric A having a positive capacity-temperature coefficient separates the condenser plates A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP> which may consist of metal foil or metallized layers. These are enclosed in a case C consisting of a ceramic material containing a sufficient proportion of titanium dioxide to give the mixture a negative capacity-temperature coefficient. Connected in parallel with the main condenser are two electrodes C<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>2</SP> for which the case C constitutes the dielectric. The metallized layer C<SP>1</SP> may extend over the whole inner surface of C thus constituting an. electrostatic screen between the condenser units.
