[Class 70] [Also in Group IV] When impregnating. with rubber such materials formed wholly or partly of cotton such as duck for belting or tyre cord, the adhesion of the rubber is assisted by initially. de-waxing the cotton and subsequently applying thereto as an adhesive an aqueous dispersion of rubber containing an addition of resorcinol resin. De-waxing may be carried out by steam treatment in the presence of ammonia, or by heating with caustic alkali solution. Specifications 228,893, 324,664, [both in Class 140], 347,691, and 405,311 are referred to.
