Abstract
507,357. Multilayer material for colour photography. GASPAR, B. March 10, 1938, No. 7488. [Class 98 (ii)] Colour photographic multi-layer material comprises at least one coloured silver halide emulsion layer which has a considerably lower sensitivity to the light absorbed by the dyestuff in the layer and used for the exposure of the superimposed layer or layers. In an example, three silver bromide gelatine emulsion layers are arranged upon one or both sides of a transparent support, the middle layer emulsion being unripened and having an inherent blue sensitivity which is about one-tenth of that of the other emulsion. The unripened emulsion is dyed yellow with an image forming dyestuffwhich may be Chrysophenin G rendered insoluble by treatment with triphenyl guanidine lactate, and is sensitized to green with erythrosine. The two outer layers are not specially sensitized and are dyed blue-green and magenta with Pontamine Sky Blue and Tuchechtbrillantrot 2B respectively. This material is used for printing, exposure being from both sides. If neither or only one of the other layers is coloured, one of them may be sensitized to red, and in this case the support may be opaque with all the layers on one side and separated by clear gelatine layers, exposure being from the side of the blue layer. The dyestuff images are prepared as described in Specification 397,159. Specifications 408,991, 415,040, and 421,534 also are referred to.
